Hello (again)

I’m an illustrator and image-maker based in North East England.

I take images apart

and put them back together.

I became enamored with collage illustration at Norwich School of Art and Design; my unknown ticket collection and memorabilia continue to appear in my illustrations.

I write Weather or Whether on Substack. It's a place for notes, processes, and “unfinished pieces”. Look out for Curated Know-How: downloadable visual notes about illustration and the creative industry.

When I’m not illustrating, I play tennis at the coast and spend much time getting lost amongst trees in the Lake District.

Rewind

I found out I had dyslexia while I was at art school. My curiosity was peaked. I dove into understanding the dyslexic brain by studying for an MSc in Psychology and earning a Level 5 Certificate in Dyslexia. For over ten years, I've helped to spot, support, and empower dyslexic students and Dyslexic Thinking [thinking differently and creatively]. I taught students to find what they're good at and do lots of it: focus on their dyslexic strengths.

 FAQs

  • The words 'reed' and 'read' are homophones. They sound alike when spoken aloud and have different meanings.

Misspelling them is a homage to my dyslexia and quirks.
